How we use cookies
Last updated: August 11, 2026
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can recognize your browser on a later page or a later visit. This page lists every cookie platinumpestsolutions.com sets, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to get rid of it. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers information handling more broadly.
1. Cookies we set
We use one tool that sets cookies: HubSpot, our customer relationship and marketing system. Its tracking code runs on every page of this site and tells us which pages get read, how people found us, and which page a request came from. That is how we know whether the site is doing its job.
These are analytics cookies. They are not used for advertising, they are not sold, and they are not shared with third parties for their own marketing.
HubSpot analytics cookies
hubspotutk(6 months). Stores a random identifier for your browser. When you submit our request form, this is what connects the request to the pages you looked at first, so we know which page or referral brought you to us. It holds no name, email, or phone number.__hstc(6 months). The main visitor-tracking cookie. Records this domain, the identifier above, your first and most recent visit, and how many visits you have made.__hssc(30 minutes). Tracks the current visit and counts pages viewed within it. It is what determines when one visit ends and another begins.__hssrc(until you close your browser). Records whether you restarted your browser, so a restart is not counted as a brand new visit.
2. Cookies set by others
Our Careers page displays a job board hosted by Paycom, our applicant tracking provider. Paycom delivers that content and may set its own cookies when you use it. Those cookies are governed by Paycom's privacy and cookie policies, not ours.
Links out to social media. Our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn links open those sites in a new tab. We do not embed their tracking pixels on our pages, so they set nothing here until you click through.
3. What we do not use
To be specific about what is not running on this site:
- No Google Analytics and no tag manager.
- No advertising, retargeting, or conversion pixels, including Meta, Google Ads, and LinkedIn.
- No session recording or heatmap tools.
- No cookies that we sell or share for anyone else's advertising.
Our pages do load typefaces from Google's font service, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. It does not set a cookie.
4. How to block or delete these cookies
The cookies above are not required for the site to work. You can browse every page, read every service description, and submit a request with all of them blocked. The only thing we lose is the ability to see which page or channel a request came from.
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete the ones already stored, or block third-party trackers wholesale:
- Chrome. Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies. To clear what is already there, use Delete browsing data.
- Safari. Settings, then Privacy. "Prevent cross-site tracking" is on by default. Use Manage Website Data to remove stored cookies.
- Edge. Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data. Tracking prevention is under Privacy, search, and services.
- Firefox. Settings, then Privacy & Security. Enhanced Tracking Protection blocks analytics cookies on the Strict setting.
A tracker-blocking browser extension will also block HubSpot's script before it loads. Blocking cookies site-wide can sign you out of other websites, so most people prefer clearing cookies for a single site or using their browser's tracking protection instead.
We are working on an on-page cookie control so you can turn this off here rather than in your browser settings. Until it ships, the browser steps above are the way to opt out, and our Customer Care team is happy to walk you through them.
5. Do Not Track
Browsers handle Do Not Track signals inconsistently and there is no common standard for responding to them, so this site does not currently respond to them. The browser controls in Section 4 do work.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We will not add advertising or retargeting cookies to this site without saying so here first.
